Preserving Native Flora & Fauna Through Ethical Hunting
Our Purpose
Australian Conservation Hunters Association Incorporated, or ACHA, is dedicated to the protection of Australian wildlife through responsible hunting practices. We aim to preserve local land and safeguard native flora and fauna by controlling populations of invasive species such as deer, foxes, pigs, and rabbits.
Our Founder, the late Eric "Clyde" Thomas, was an extraordinary man. After the accident that rendered him a quadriplegic, Clyde leveraged his disability, shaping it into his ability to open doors
and build meaningful change. Challenging any who stood in the way of what he knew to be right, Clyde achieved more from his Wheelchair than most do while able bodied. Clyde Thomas spearheaded Programs such as "Hunters Against Hunger", where we donated countless deliveries of meat to local Churches, who would use that gift to feed those in need.
For the Future, we see ACHA involving itself more in championing education and awareness about firearms safety, ethical hunting practices, and limiting the spread of invasive species. Alongside Programs such as the Aerial Culling by Local Land Services, the Conservation Hunters can be utilised as a cost-effective tool to maintain constant pressure against invasive or introduced species, controlling population limits.
We plan to establish a permanent location, setting up a Clubhouse containing a Butcher shop. This will help our novice hunters to maximise the yield of their harvest, as well as providing a home base for all Club social events and workshops.

Preserving Ecosystems
Balancing Wildlife Populations
New South Wales’ unique native flora and fauna face continual threats from invasive species that prey on, compete with, and degrade habitat for native wildlife. Introduced animals such as feral pigs, foxes, wild deer, and wild dogs cause significant ecological and agricultural harm, placing unsustainable pressure on threatened species and sensitive environments.
Conservation hunting, when properly supervised and supported by scientific monitoring, contributes to invasive animal population reduction, supports biodiversity protection, and assists land managers across public and private lands. This complements other strategies including habitat restoration, professional pest control programs, Indigenous land management practices, and community conservation initiatives.
By supporting practical, evidence-based wildlife management, we can help ensure that future generations enjoy healthy bushland, thriving native wildlife, and a strong rural environment. Together, we can protect our natural heritage and keep the balance in our landscapes.
